What is cloud-to-cloud backup?

Cloud-to-cloud backup copies data from one cloud service, in this case Microsoft 365, to a separate, independent cloud. If something happens to your Microsoft 365 data, a clean copy is safely stored elsewhere and can be restored.

Doesn't Microsoft back up Microsoft 365 already?

Microsoft keeps its service running and offers limited retention for deleted items, but it isn't designed as a complete backup. Microsoft's shared responsibility model means protecting your data is up to you.

What does your Cloud-to-Cloud Backup cover?
